ABOUT
Cartoon KAT-TUN is a weekly TV talk show hosted by the Japanese boy band, KAT-TUN (Kazuya Kamenashi, Jin Akanishi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Tatsuya Ueda and Yuichi Nakamaru). For most of its episodes, it features two guests - usually one who is there for the longer 100Q talk segment of the show and another for the DAT-TUN5 part. Originally, the talk show started off with only five members, as one of the group members, Jin Akanishi, was on hiatus from the entertainment industry. However, later on, he returned and his first appearance was on the May 9th, 2007 episode.
Cartoon KAT-TUN started on April 4th, 2007, and is a pre-recorded talk show. Its guests range from famous athletes, actors and musicians from Japan to even internationally well-known artists (e.g. Avril Lavigne). Each episode lasts thirty minutes each night; the 100Q talk show segment usually lasts a little over half the show, while the DAT-TUN5 part takes up the rest.
100Q is the part of the show where guests are pre-asked a list of questions, of which their answers are displayed across the screen on a CG banner. When a KAT-TUN member finds an answer to a question interesting, he is required to get up and "hit" the virtual CG banner, which will stop automatically. The guest is then usually asked to elaborate on his/her answer.
DAT-TUN5 is the ending part of the show where a second guest plays darts against all the members of KAT-TUN. When KAT-TUN loses, a golden dart is given to the guest. When the guest loses, he/she provides gifts to all the members of KAT-TUN.
